"OneCall has an excellent website with clearly written descriptions and very competitive prices. The order process was painless and the shipping costs were great (free). This is a high quality online merchant. The reason why I may not be using them again is their insistence on shipping items with "Signature Required." Even after explicitly selecting a Driver Release for the shipment of a relatively inexpensive item, I still had to work from home so I could sign for the package from FedEx. OneCall would be one of my top choices for online purchases -- right behind Amazon.com -- if only they would consider changing their signature requirement for shipping packages via FedEx."

"I ordered a digital hygrometer for my humidor. After an initial quiet period of about two days (which is mentioned in the initial e-mail), I got a status update that my order was being shipped. Later that same day, I received my USPS tracking number. My item arrived a couple days later in perfect condition. Their selection is a bit limited, but their prices are very good. It's definitely worth a peek at their site for humidors and accessories."

"Very easy to find the correct memory on their Web site. Order was processed quickly and arrived in a reasonable time (for cross-country UPS Ground shipping) at a reasonable cost. Order status updates were top rate! Memory arrived in perfect condition and worked exactly as described."

"ECTACO is one of the leaders in electronic hand-held language translators. We purchased one of their iTRAVL Windows Mobile-based 13-language bidirectional translators with speech recognition of phrases. While quite expensive, the unit lives up to it's description and claims. It should come in very handy for our upcoming trip to Japan."

"All items ordered were received very quickly via FedEx Ground, and performed exactly as promised. They have a very wide selection of voltage and power converters and adapters. The only two issues with Voltage Converter Transformers is: a) their shipping prices are on the high side, and b) they provide virtually zero order status updates. When you place an order, they provide *approximate* shipping costs, but the actual cost isn't known until the package arrives on your doorstep. The only e-mail I received from them was an order confirmation. No shipping confirmation or tracking information was ever provided. I even requested an order status update via e-mail, but received no reply. I suspect the company is used to dealing with business-to-business transactions where orders "just happen." Again, I had no problem with the ordering process, the delivery speed, or the merchandise. They just seem a bit unwilling to share interim status updates, which can be unsettling for some buyers."

"Overall, a great place to find stuff cheap. When comparing prices, I always check MeritLine first. Note that not all items listed as "In Stock" are actually in stock, since they [apparently] resell items using a "zero inventory" model. Don't be surprised if an item you order is suddenly on backorder. Thankfully, their backorders usually only delay shipment by a week or so. Order status, however, is a bit difficult and manual (e-mail), but everyone I dealt with was polite and professional."

"Amazon.com is the gold standard for online shopping. Their selection and prices are really unparalleled. I've purchased everything from $12 USB flash drives to $1,200 watches without any concern. One very important point that should be made clear is that their Free Shipping option will delay your shipment by several days, for no obvious or apparent reason. The item I ordered would've taken almost seven business days TO SHIP. When I changed the shipping option to UPS ground for $5 more, my item shipped the same day and was DELIVERED in three business days. Seems a bit unreasonable to me."

"One of the best, most helpful, most reliable, and most friendly online retailers I've dealt with. I was interested in a Sony Blu-ray Disc player that was out of stock everywhere, including Amazon.com. I was surprised that Crutchfield listed it as "In Stock" but their friendly, helpful Online Chat advisers confirmed it was in stock. After placing the order, the unit shipped the same day I ordered it. In fact, it shipped less than TWO HOURS after I ordered it. Crutchfield.com is now at the top of my bookmarks."

"In looking for a high-end 2.1-channel powered speaker system for my PC, Walmart.com had one of the lowest prices. I was skeptical about ordering online because of the low ResellerRatings.com score. I have to say, the ordering, shipping, tracking and update experience was excellent! I ordered on a Sunday and my new toys arrived on Thursday, and that was after a one-day delay for Bill-me-Later confirmation."

"Initially, it seemed that the order was going to go through without incident. I received an order confirmation within hours. From that point on, however, my order got stalled with seemingly no way to find out status. The order status changed to "Item(s) located in stock" and remained there for two weeks. After several e-mails to Support, I eventually called their 800 number (which was also unpleasant to navigate) and "attempted to" cancel my order. Time will tell if it arrives, or if I get charged for it. Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience."

"After two attempts at purchasing the same item -- one via Bill-Me-Later, and one via credit card -- I have to give up ordering from TigerDirect.com. Each order was canceled a few hours after submission with absolutely no explanation. I am a very heavy e-commerce user and I've never in my 15+ years of Internet usage had so much trouble ordering online. Nov. 30, 2007 Update: After calling Tiger Direct customer service to complain, they directed me to their Billing and Credit Authorization department. Apparently my account got mis-tagged as being used to ship orders to a questionable address in Tampa, FL. They confirmed some random personal data, then released my second order. I received it on 11/30/2007 and am optimistic that future orders will not meet the same fate. NOTE that the total lack of notification regarding the credit problems still needs to be addressed by Tiger Direct, but at this point, I believe I will order from them again."

"Absolutely incredible service, unbelievable prices for the quality of their merchandise, and impeccable status updates.
